Business Smarts · Facing the Grey Wave
Daily 10,000 people turn 65 years old and this trend is expected to continue into the 2030’s. The aging baby boomers will change how we respond to the needs of older adults.
This presentation informs the audience of the impact and implications of the aging population on communities and businesses. The intent of the presentation is to stimulate conversation around what the business community is currently experiencing and what they can expect to experience, as well as tools for becoming better prepared for aging customers and employees.
Presenter Beth Bland has worked with Valley Program for Aging Services (VPAS) for nearly 6 years. She previously worked with aging programs at Sentara RMH (formally RMH) and has held contract positions with the Alzheimer’s Association and Senior Navigator. She holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Mental Health as well as a certificate in gerontology and non-profit management.
The series is sponsored by your Shenandoah Valley Small Business Development Center, the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce, and Shenandoah Valley Chapter of SCORE. Coffee provided by Broad Porch Coffee.
