Seth Ragosta Elected To The Virginia Bar Association Board Of Governors

At the 138th Annual Meeting of the Virginia Bar Association (“VBA”), Seth J. Ragosta was elected to a three-year term to the VBA Board of Governors where he will be representing the Blue Ridge Region.  The VBA is a voluntary bar association founded in 1888 and it “is the independent voice of the Virginia lawyer, advancing the highest ideals of the profession through advocacy and volunteer service.”  The VBA's Board of Governors oversees and manages the statewide organization, which assists the legal profession and the community by facilitating information sharing and best practices among lawyers throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia and by proposing statutory changes which improve the law.
Seth has been active with the VBA throughout his legal career, serving on the Young Lawyers Division’s Executive Board for which he was awarded the prestigious Emerson G. Spies Award in 2017.
Seth has also served the Virginia State Bar, Virginia’s mandatory bar association. Seth is currently serving on the VSB’s Family Law Section Board of Governors and the VSB’s Clients’ Protection Fund Board. He has also served on the VSB’s 7th District Disciplinary Committee.  Seth has been selected to the Legal Elite list by Virginia Business magazine (2019-2025) in the Family Law/Domestic Relations category, and has been named to Virginia Rising Stars, Family Law, Super Lawyers magazine (2016-2021).
Mike Derdeyn, President of Flora Pettit, said, “Our Firm has always been supportive of the Virginia Bar Association and its emphasis on professionalism, civility and the Rule of Law. We are proud that Seth’s leadership has been recognized and that he will be sharing his time and talents with this organization on behalf of our region.”
