The Blue Ridge Safety Association (BRSA), the Shenandoah Valley’s leading nonprofit safety network, proudly announces that employees from three member organizations have earned their OSHA 10-Hour General Industry cards — demonstrating their commitment to creating safer workplaces.
Employees from Friendship Industries, Magnera and InterChange successfully completed the requirements to earn 10-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) General Industry certification, which equips workers with essential knowledge to recognize, prevent, and address common workplace hazards.
Casey Carwile, Safety Coordinator, with Design Electric served as the OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer. President Linda Gail Johnson was the subject matter expert for the ergonomics module. Their training inspired participants to provide this feedback::
“Training was very engaging and interactive. This training should be offered to all levels of management within an organization. ”
“Great course!!! Appreciated the opportunity to put skills to work right away by participating in a slips, trips, falls audit, inspecting a ladder for safety, and observing as an experienced fork lift operator walked us through his daily audit checklist.”
“Enjoyed the live classroom interaction vs taking the course online. I learned a lot from the questions and experiences that other participants offered as part of the discussion.”
The OSHA 10-Hour General Industry training covers a wide range of vital topics, including hazard identification, personal protective equipment, emergency response, and workers’ rights. By earning this certification, employees gain practical skills to help prevent workplace injuries and maintain compliance with federal safety standards.
OSHA 10 General Industry recipients from InterChange are pictured below and are eager to host the next training group from BRSA on October 9th & 10th.
Congratulations to (L-R) Russ Bartley - Operations Supervisor, Richard Brady - Maintenance, Chris Caballero - Operations Supervisor, Jeff Meyers - Utilities Manager and Jaime Pinto - HR Recruiter for earning OSHA 10 for General Industry cards.
