Mustaches 4 Kids Returns to Harrisonburg and Rockingham County for Another Year of Community Impact

Blue Ridge CASA invites the community to grow, give, and make a difference for children who need a voice

HARRISONBURG, Va. —  After a successful inaugural year in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, Blue Ridge CASA for Children is bringing Mustaches 4 Kids (M4K) back to the community this November. The month-long fundraising and awareness campaign invites local residents, businesses, and community groups to grow mustaches, rally support, and help make a difference in the lives of children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

Mustaches 4 Kids is a fun, community-driven campaign with a meaningful purpose. Participants, known as “Growers,” spend the month of November growing a mustache, raising donations from friends, family, and coworkers, and spreading awareness about the work of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). Participants do not need to be able to grow a mustache to take part — anyone can join the campaign and help support children in the community.

Last year marked the first Mustaches 4 Kids campaign in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, bringing new supporters together around a shared commitment to children. Blue Ridge CASA is excited to build on that momentum and continue growing a community of advocates, donors, and supporters who believe every child deserves a voice.

“Mustaches 4 Kids is about so much more than growing facial hair. It’s about bringing people together, having fun, and making a real difference for children in our community,” said one of our Growers. “We were excited to introduce this campaign to Harrisonburg and Rockingham County last year, and we’re looking forward to seeing our community come together again to make this year even more impactful.”

Funds raised through Mustaches 4 Kids support Blue Ridge CASA for Children’s mission of recruiting, training, and supervising volunteer advocates who speak up for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. CASA volunteers build relationships with children, gather information, and help ensure their needs and voices are considered as important decisions are made about their futures.

Community members interested in participating can register as a Grower  or support an existing participant with a donation. Local businesses and organizations are also encouraged to join the fun by forming teams, supporting Growers, or helping spread the word.
