Village Planner and Compliance Coordinator

- The Village Planner will administer the architectural application process from inquiry, intake, to review, approval, and certification of compliance.
- Conducts studies on future use of MPOA properties, infrastructure, and facilities, including parks, wooded green spaces, the MPOA-owned Massanutten Village Family Entertainment Center, undeveloped or underutilized land, and new subdivisions.
- Architectural & Ecological Control Committee Monitoring / Compliance Coordinator
- Monitors progress of approved projects, review tree removal requests, provides enforcement and inspection during construction and post-construction prior to issuing Certificates of Compliance.
- Investigate property owner concerns regarding nuisance-related matters, non-compliance of property maintenance and construction rules, and acts accordingly.
- Property Transfers/ New Owner Registrations
The Ideal Village Planner Will Possess*:
- Strong research, analytical, and report-writing skills.
- Experience assisting the public through land use-related processes, delivering public presentations, and demonstrated inter-agency collaboration.
- A Bachelor's degree in planning, architecture, landscape architecture, public administration, geography, political science, or a related field is required with professional experience.
- Alternatively, a High School diploma (or equivalent) – combined with at least four (4) years of related experience listed below – may be considered to meet the educational requirements.
- Relevant Professional Experience: in Planning, Zoning, Code Compliance, Homeowner Associations/Property Owner Associations, Property Management, Community Development, Building Codes, or related field.
- *Depending upon the qualifications of the applicant at hiring, this position may be offered at the entry level- Village Planning Clerk.
- Must have a valid Virginia Driver’s License with clean recent record.
