Intern (Erie/LD&B)
General Job Description
The Intern will gain insight and experience by rotating through all LD&B divisions. The Intern will be encouraged to share ideas that improve the business. This position requires an ability to excel in verbal communication, think critically, and maintain a level of professionalism. The individual will be working through a detailed training plan and completing various tasks that include, but is not limited to, the Erie internship curriculum, as well as gaining a holistic approach to LD&B’s functions, our brand, and overall concept of our company. The Intern will be resourceful, proactive, and able to work under pressure at times to handle a broad range of activities in a timely manner. As a representative of the organization, the Intern aligns personally with the organization’s values as reflected in the LD&B BLUEprint and models these values on a daily basis.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete a variety of training material from Erie Insurance Agency and LD&B.
- Learn and understand agency-wide material through means of virtual training, as well as self-study options during the internship program.
- Assist in daily tasks and projects that will support team members throughout the organization.
- Develop a well-rounded understanding of organizational guidelines, protocols, and documentation.
- Become accustomed to different types of system software and tools that are used throughout LD&B.
- Obtain a P&C agent/producer license by the end of the internship program.
- Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance.
- Maintain a strong work ethic with a total commitment to success and consistently demonstrate our BLUEprint values every day.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Requirements, Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior customer service experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
- Exhibits initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness, capable of prioritizing and completing tasks independently.
- Expert level verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and to understand and adhere to all requirements related to information security, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
