Run the Runway 5K is back and ready for takeoff! Lace up your running shoes and join us at Shenandoah Valley Airport in Weyers Cave. The family-friendly Sunday afternoon event begins with a 1K Fun Run for children ages 3 - 12 at 2:00 p.m. and a chip-timed 5K on the taxiway and runway beginning at 2:30 p.m. This unique race opportunity is a perfect fit for runners, walkers and families at all fitness levels. The course is handicap accessible and well-suited for those pushing young children in strollers. This year includes additional educational activities and static aircraft displays for a complete afternoon of aviation fun for the whole family!

Additional Event Information:

• Registration launch discount of $5 per registrant if you sign up August 1 - 5.

• To receive this year’s athletic moisture-wicking race t-shirt, please register no later than Wednesday, September 7.

• Packet pick-ups offered on Saturday, September 17 from 2 - 5 PM at Explore More Discovery Museum, and Sunday, September 18 from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM at Shenandoah Valley Airport.

All proceeds benefit the Explore More Discovery Museum's aviation exhibit where children will learn about the many aspects of aviation including hands-on experience as a pilot, aircraft mechanic, air traffic controller and passenger. By supporting this event through sponsorship or registration, you will assist the museum to fulfill their mission of providing high-quality, experiential learning opportunities for all children!
