Philosophy - Funkhouser Real Estate Group was founded on the principles of Honesty, Integrity and Professionalism. We understand real estate is most likely the largest investment our clients will make in their lifetime. This is why our associates are equipped with the latest real estate tools and quality education to help our clients make the best decisions and guide them through a successful real estate transaction.

Heritage - In 1972, Joe Funkhouser began his real estate career and quickly realized the need for a full service real estate firm. Over the years, the firm grew from two associates in Downtown Harrisonburg to over seventy associates with offices in Harrisonburg, Woodstock and Luray. While upholding the firm’s principles, it continues to innovate the real estate market in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The company is built on quality real estate professionals who keep their clients interest first. In the 1990’s Joe’s daughter (Elizabeth) and son (Kemper) joined the firm. Elizabeth worked within the property management division and Kemper within the residential brokerage division. This is now a Family run company as Elizabeth serves as the CFO and Kemper as the COO.
