The Blue Ridge Safety Association invites you to our quarterly networking luncheon, Friday June 12th from 11-1, with a special presentation on electrical safety and a facility tour of Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative. Do you hold key responsibilities in safety for your organization? We welcome you to join us. Please wear closed toe/closed heel shoes and bring a pair of safety glasses to participate in the facility tour. Registration required for this free event.
Chartered in 1936, Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative maintains over 8,000 miles of electric lines and serves over 104,000 meters in the counties of Augusta, Clarke, Frederick, Highland, Page, Rockingham, Shenandoah and Warren in Virginia, and the city of Winchester. SVEC was the first electric cooperative chartered in Virginia. One of the cooperative’s institutional pillars is “Safety, Security & Risk Management,” which speaks to its commitment to achieve a culture of safety for the benefit of its members and employees.
On the visit and tour of the Rockingham headquarters, you will hear how line crews stay safe in the field with the help of a live line demo, how operators in a 24/7 center navigate the electric distribution system to keep field crews safe, and how simple, yet life-saving driver safety rules are reinforced to all employees.
Here's what you can expect:
Light networking luncheon - bring your business cards
Engaging presentation on electrical safety from SVEC
Wear closed toe/closed heel shoes and bring your own safety glasses to join the group on a facility tour you don't want to miss!
