Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce
Announces Connections2019 Program
October 3, 2019
The Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the speakers and program for Connections2019, the Chamber’s annual informational, educational, B2B and business networking event. Making the announcement, Chamber President Frank Tamberrino stated “we wanted this year’s program to be full of useful business information for businesses large and small. We have three individuals who are in unique positions to understand what is going on across the Commonwealth in any given business sector. And we have the two top City and County officials whose job is to guide Harrisonburg and Rockingham County into the future.” The first session, Virginia + The Valley – Where are we and where are we heading?, includes Bernie Niemeier, President and Publisher of Virginia Business, Barry DuVal, President of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, and Stephen Moret, President of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership. The second session, Local Economic Picture, a state of the community report, will be presented by Rockingham County Administrator Stephen King and Harrisonburg City Manager Eric Campbell.
Following the first two sessions, there will be three concurrent topics of interest. The Future of Retail and Commercial Development (and more) will be given by Keith May and Tim Reamer, Cottonwood Commercial Realty. Dave Saunders of the Richmond based marketing firm of Madison + Main will tackle the continuously important topic of Marketing Trends. Since keeping and finding good workers is on almost every business’ priority list, Cindy Maish, U.S. Department of Labor, Community Outreach , will speak on Issues, Trends and Staying Out of Trouble.
Between the informational session and the opening of the business expo hall, the Chamber would like to get input and opinions on our community: business climate, key issues and the future. This will take an interactive survey format and will also build upon the Vision2020 initiatives in 2010.
Connections2019 is offered by the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Shenandoah Valley Small Business Development Center and held at the JMU Festival Center. Major sponsors include Massanutten Resort and Atlantic Union Bank Registration is required.
