Description / Job Summary

Supports Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV) mission and business plan by implementing digital and social media strategy and assists with the general marketing and communications functions for the Association under the direction of the Director of Marketing.  Responsible for identification, planning and distribution of content that promotes FCV’s brand and service offerings on our website and social media platforms.  Coordinates closely with internal staff, as well as outside customers and business affiliates.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Media Management, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or relevant discipline.
  • Two or more years of relevant experience in a business environment; or appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience using social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks and projects.
  • Demonstrated creative writing, proofreading and editing experience.
  • Builds internal and external networks; understands trend impacting the business.
  • Analyzes issues; produces effective, practical decisions and solutions.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Working knowledge of search engine optimization.
  • Working knowledge of CRM and email marketing.
  • General knowledge of the rural communities that we serve.
  • Ability to travel for onsite farm and branch office visits, training, etc.
  • Availability for work outside normal business hours.
