Position Summary
The Housekeeping / Laundry Manager is responsible for leading housekeeping and laundry staff, verifying compliance with state and federal regulations in a healthcare setting.  Working closely with the VP of Technology and Facilities, the Housekeeping/Laundry Manager will assist in developing and maintaining budgets for housekeeping and laundry.  Monitors the cleanliness of buildings interiors and ensures that apartments and rooms are cleaned in preparation for move-ins.  Works collaboratively with other service lines and various levels of VMRC leadership to ensure that the needs of staff and residents are met.

Position Requirements
High school graduate with at least three years supervisory experience.  Must possess a thorough knowledge of housekeeping and laundry procedures and state regulations as well as a thorough knowledge of operation and care of cleaning equipment.  Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment.  Must possess the ability to supervise, coordinate and effectively lead the activities of others.  Must possess the ability to effectively work with leadership, the Housekeeping & Laundry team, staff, residents, vendors and community members.  Must possess computer experience with familiarity in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).  Must be able to effectively communicate orally, in writing, and through presentation.  Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written assignments; ability to perform the duties listed in the job description with limited supervision.  Self-motivated, highly organized, willing to be flexible and accommodate changing priorities.  Must have a pleasant personality, enjoy working with people, have good manners and be able to deal tactfully with others.  Must have a current Virginia Driver’s license, in good standing and ability to obtain authorization on the VMRC Approved Driver List.
