Explore Worldwide Threads - Eastern Asia with the Virginia Quilt Museum
Harrisonburg, Va.- On Tuesday, October 27, 2020, the Virginia Quilt Museum will open the ?Worldwide Threads - Eastern Asia? exhibit to the public for display until December 19, 2020.
?With travel still so restricted, we are excited to bring a small piece of Asia to Virginia,? says, Susan Farmer, the Executive Director of the Virginia Quilt Museum.
The growing interconnectedness of our world allows for a deeper understanding of culture through art and the creative expression of ideas. In this spirit, traditional and contemporary textile techniques are used to communicate regional impressions through color, texture, language, and imagery. This collection of artworks, exploring the essence of Eastern Asian culture, is the first in the series of global art scrolls.
The Virginia Quilt Museum is the Official Quilt Museum of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Founded in 1995, the museum?s mission is ?celebrating and nurturing Virginia?s quilting heritage.? The museum's three floors of rotating exhibits are open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am ? 4 pm. The museum is located at 301 S. Main St. Harrisonburg, VA.
