SUMMARY:Webinar: DOLI Regulations
DESCRIPTION:New VA Dept of Labor and Industry COVID-19 Emergency Temporary Standards and Regulations Explained\n\n \n\nThe HRCC and GARCC have teamed up to help area employers understand the newly adopted Emergency Temporary Standards for Virginia employers. Many of the standards and regulations adopted were already being voluntarily followed by most employers using industry standards\, best practices and CDC guidelines for COID-19 response. But\, in response to a Governor's Executive Order\, the Dept of Labor and Industry's Safety and Health Codes Board adopted Temporary Emergency Standards and Guidelines\, adding training requirements and possible fines\, all of which could also be made permanent by the Board later this year\, for Virginia employers. Courtney Malveaux\, a former Virginia Labor Commissioner and a current member of the DOLI Safety and Health Board\, will join us for a virtual presentation and explanation of your responsibilities on Thursday\, Aug 20th at 9:00 am.\n\nThursday\, August 20\, 2020\n\n9:00-10:00 am\n\n \n\nThe Virginia Safety and Health Codes Board passed a first-in-the-nation standard to address COVID-19 in workplaces. Virginia Occupational Safety and Health (VOSH)\, the state counterpart to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)\, will now enforce a standard that mandates and in some instances exceeds U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and OSHA guidance. The new standard covers most private employers in Virginia\, as well as all state and local employees.\n\n \n\nJoin Jackson Lewis attorney Courtney Malveaux for a discussion about the new COVID-19 requirements\, with a heavy emphasis on those unique to Virginia. Mr. Malveaux represents industrial employers on the Virginia Safety and Health Codes Board and he is the immediate past Labor Commissioner of Virginia. He is also a former President of the National Association of Government Labor Officials. Mr. Malveaux is Co-Leader of Jackson Lewis' Workplace Safety and Health Practice Group and of its Construction Industry Group.
