SUMMARY:Shenandoah Women's Alliance - Fascia & Female Health
DESCRIPTION:Fascia & Female Health \n\nThis seminar will be debunking myths that are perpetuated regarding women's health (like bladder issues are normal after having children). Many of these myths cause women of all ages to live with issues and/or pursue interventions that are expensive\, ineffective\, and sometimes harmful\, leaving them in worse condition. We'll explore how attention to the fascial system can influence many of these problems (bladder issues\, pelvic pain\, endometriosis\, menopausal symptoms\, etc.) efficiently and effectively without surgery\, drugs\, pads\, or pills. We'll also take a look at how and why the body stores fat as it does\, and self-treatment techniques that can help to break it up. \n\n Dr. Colleen Whiteford\, physical therapist\, has owned and operated Appalachian Physical Therapy with her physical therapist husband\, Bill\, since 1986. Her specialty and emphasis in practice is on the evaluation and treatment of the fascial network. She is certified as a practitioner as well as an instructor in the Fascial Manipulation - Stecco method\, and uses it to address a remarkable array of problems on people of all ages.
