DESCRIPTION:Join us as 12 teams involved in the ICAP 2.0 Short Course deliver their final presentations. This event is free and open to the public. We just ask that you RSVP!\n\n \n\nAbout ICAP and This Cohort\n\nICAP is a statewide technology-commercialization program offered by the Virginia Network of Small Business Development Centers\, George Mason University\, and local sponsors (SVTC\, SBDC\, JMU X-Labs).\n\n\n\nBased on the National Science Foundation's I-Corps  program for Lean Startups\, ICAP 2.0 helps inventors and entrepreneurs take the right first steps in bringing new technologies and innovations to market.\n\n\n\nDuring this free 3-week program\, individuals worked with ICAP instructors and teammates to learn techniques to help identify potential customers\, learn their needs and how to build a successful business model from that knowledge.\n\n\n\nThe Short Course is the beginning of an ICAP process that guides companies through the Five Steps to Startup Success:\n\n	Validate one's business model\n	Build the right team of three or more members\n	Develop a minimum viable product (MVP)\n	Create early sales traction\n	Establish distribution channels and key partnerships\n\n \n\nWho was Eligible?\n\nAll Virginia early-stage technology innovators and entrepreneurs (faculty\, students\, or the community at large) who were seeking to explore the commercial prospects for their innovations were encouraged to participate in this regional cohort.\n\n \n\nThis Cohort is hosted by the Shenandoah Valley Small Business Development Center\, JMU X-Labs\, and the Shenandoah Valley Technology Council.\n\n \n\nMore information and registration for Feb. 9\, 2018 ICAP presentations
