DESCRIPTION:Skyline Literacy Hosts Annual Golfing for Literacy Charity Tournament \n\n\n\nRegistration is now open for Skyline Literacy's annual Golfing for Literacy charity tournament. The event will take place on Friday\, September 16\, 2022\, at Lakeview Golf Club (4101 Shen Lake Dr.\, Harrisonburg\, VA 22801). Registration will begin at 11:30 am\, lunch at 12 pm\, and the tournament at 1 pm. Lakeview Golf Club is an 18-hole course\, four- member team captain's choice with an individual cost of $125 per participant\, $360 for the early bird team admission available until August 19\, and $400 per team. Register by calling 540-433-0505 or going to www.skylineliteracy.org/golfing-for-literacy-2022. In addition to monies raised through team participation\, Skyline Literacy is seeking additional community involvement and support through various levels of individual and corporate sponsorship. If you are interested in a sponsorship\, please call 540-433-0505. Sponsorship checks should be made out to "Skyline Literacy" and can be sent to P.O. Box 1354\, Harrisonburg\, VA 22803. Each sponsor will receive a receipt from Skyline Literacy acknowledging their tax-deductible donation. Please make your payment by September 2nd\, 2022. Our goal is to raise $30\,000\, and we need your help to do it! All proceeds generated by the tournament benefit Skyline Literacy.                                                                     \n\nAs a community-based literacy organization for 30 years\, Skyline Literacy serves over 300 individuals annually\, and programs are available throughout Harrisonburg and Rockingham counties. Our vision is a community where adults are empowered by literacy skills to be self-sufficient\, navigate daily life\, and participate in the workforce\, education\, and civic affairs. Our mission is to provide instruction\, based on need\, in various literacies\, for adults in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County using trained\, qualified instructors and volunteers.\n\n Since opening in 1987\, Skyline Literacy puts the needs of learners first and developed a unique instructional approach that: \n\n	Provides customized lessons for every learner\, regardless of his or her mobility\, flexibility\, or other circumstances.\n	Offers one-on-one and/or group instruction\, based on our learners' needs and goals.\n	Partners with other community organizations in order to deliver the best learning experience possible.\n\n\n\nSkyline Literacy's Programs Include: \n\n\n	GED Preparation - Tutors work on-on-one with adults reading at or above a 6th grade level who are preparing for the GED exam. Curriculum includes reading comprehension\, writing\, science\, mathematics\, and social studies.\n	Citizenship Preparation - Tutors teach small groups of learners with a minimum of a high beginner English level. The course includes U.S. history and government\, reading\, writing\, and interview skills.\n	English Language Learning (ELL) - Tutors teach small groups of learners speaking\, listening\, reading\, writing\, and survival skills. Groups are organized by level\, ranging from literacy to high intermediate.\n	Basic Literacy - Tutors work one-on-one with adults reading at or below a 5th grade level. Curriculum is based on learner's specific goals.\n	Family Literacy - Family literacy encourages families to promote education to their children through interactive programs\, reading\, and writing.\n	Computer Literacy - Computer literacy classes for beginner and intermediate students. Learn computer basics in Level 1.
